Give Michelle your support

This morning I've notice this small line when visiting the author_pane project page
April 10: Effective immediately I am taking a break from support so you folks will need to help each other in the queues for a while.

I've read Michelles post twice and I was overwhelmed by a feeling of sadness. Such a helpful and honest community member that needs to take a break, just because some inexperienced and selfish forum-visitors think badly of her.

Be supportive and post a friendly message on her blog

Proposal for drupalcon in 2009 has been submitted!

We're so excited!

Last week our team at http://groups.drupal.org/proposed-drupalcon-maastricht-2009 work hard to get our proposal ready for submission to the drupal association.

As always, the proposal that was 'almost' finished, still took a few days of revisioning, tweaking and cleaning up before we finally decided it to be ready for the world and sent it off to the association on saturday.

I'm also looking forward to seeing the french proposal at http://groups.drupal.org/drupalcon-paris-2009.

Stop Global Warming

Integrate gtimelog tasks with unfuddle tickets

unfuddle gTimeLogAlthough unfuddle is easy to use, it's rather cumbersome to use tickets to do timetracking.

Picasaweb 3 with face tagging

Together with the new release of the incredibly simple desktop client Picasa 3, Google also improved the software driving the Picasaweb albums.

A good article describing the features can be found at arstechnica, but I'd just like to say that the one feature that amazed me was the face-tagging.

Mollom: 100% protection against spam attacks

Mollom my hero!

After reading Kristof's latest blog I decided to check my Mollom stats. And indeed, since last week the spam attacks on my site have quadrup(a)led.

Needless to say that ZERO spam comments have passed Mollom's excellent Artificial Intelligence.

Thank you Dries, thank you Benjamin, thank you Drupal.

Drupalcon: More Individual Sponsoring needed

Surprised by the in-your-face-advertising on the drupalcon.org site (I'm referring to the horizontal flower-bar at the bottom which announces Acquia and Sun as main sponsors for the event) i checked the page listing all the sponsors, some weird statistics grabbed my attention:

Drupalcon Szeged and Porting.

Just a few days before the early discount (80€ iso 120€) ends, i signed up for the drupalcon event in Szeged Hungary.

Like other people around the area, we were also thinking of renting a mini-van and drive the 1500km's in pure geeky style. i.e Powersupply + 3G broadband included for the whole 15hours of travel. But ...

Drupaljam, NRC Boeken and OpenSocial

Last friday, we headed off to the well organized DrupalJam in Elst (Netherlands). More than 60 people showed up at the event and we were delighted to have the opportunity to talk about our latest work for the Dutch quality paper, NRC Handelsblad. Jo Wouters provided an overview of the way we build http://nrcboeken.nl. A lot of interaction with the crowd there!

Running simpletests for Drupal (in eclipse)

Drupal, Simpletest, Eclipse logo's

Disclaimer: I’ve had several people contacting me that they didn’t get this thing to work. I guess i still left out some crucial installation/configuration parts. Use with care!

This step by step tutorial explains HOWTO run functional tests in Drupal core. We will do this both from within drupal and from within eclipse.
My machine is running Ubuntu 7.10 and uses the standard Lamp stack which comes with it. PHP 5, Mysql 5, Apache2.
